Welcome to Catholic Diocese of Uromi

"By divine favour, especially in modern times, human genius has produced from natural material astonishing inventions in the field of technology. ….they open up new and highly effective avenues of communication for all kinds of information, ideas and directives." (Decree on the Instruments of Social Communication, 1).

"With common heart and mind, let all the sons of the Church strive immediately and most energetically to use the instruments of social communication effectively in the many fields of the apostolate, as the circumstances and the times require." (DSC, 13).

When the Fathers of the Council proclaimed these words more than three decades ago, no one knew for sure what communication patterns will be like. But now at the dawn of the twenty-first century, their prophetic statement continues to remain relevant.

The communications world has experienced between then and now a tremendous growth. On her part, the Church appreciates the sophistication of modern means of social communication, and employs them to serve the people of God.

The newly erected Diocese of Uromi welcomes the strength of the Internet to reach out in a special way to her sons and daughters in different parts of the world. In the name of Christ, we welcome you to this site, your site. We wish you his Grace and Peace.
